PRIVACY
STATEMENT
Last updated: 12 October 2026
Psilocybin NZ Ltd operates psilocybin.id. This statement explains what personal information we handle when you use the site and how to contact us about it.
Information we handle
If you create an account, we handle your email address and account sign-in information. If you use mushroom identification, we handle the photo you submit, the notes and observations you enter, any region or other choices you provide, and the result. If you use the journal, we handle entries such as intention, dose, setting, mood, and integration notes. You may also send us personal information through the contact form.
Journal entries and identification details may reveal sensitive or health-related information. Please do not submit information you do not want associated with your account or request.
Some information is needed to provide a feature you choose. For example, we need the photo and details you submit to return an identification result. Without an account, account-based features such as a saved journal may not be available.
How we use information
We use information to provide the site’s account, identification, guide, journal, and contact features; save content you choose to keep; respond to requests; protect and maintain the service; and meet legal obligations. We do not publish private journal entries or provide them to retreat or clinic listings.
We may use service providers to host and secure the site, support accounts and storage, process identification requests, or deliver contact-form messages. These providers may handle information for us as needed to provide their services. We may disclose information when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect users, the service, or our legal rights. Some providers may process information outside New Zealand. We take steps required by applicable privacy law for any disclosure outside New Zealand.
Storage, retention, and security
Account-based journal entries and saved identifications are associated with your account. We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described above, to operate the service, comply with law, resolve disputes, and protect security. You can ask us to delete account information through the contact form. Some information may need to be retained where the law requires it or for legitimate security and legal purposes. Copies may remain in routine backups for a limited period before they are overwritten.
We use reasonable safeguards to protect information from loss, misuse, and unauthorised access. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
Your choices and privacy rights
You may ask to access or correct personal information we hold about you. You may also ask us to delete information, subject to legal or other permitted retention requirements. Send requests through the psilocybin.id contact form. We may ask for information needed to confirm your identity. We will respond in accordance with applicable law.
New Zealand’s Privacy Act 2020 gives people rights to request access to and correction of their personal information. If you have a privacy concern, please contact us first through the form above. You may also complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.
Children and changes
The site is intended for a general audience and is not designed for children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us through the form so we can review the request.
We may update this statement from time to time. The current version and its effective date will appear on this page.
